Dr. Alex Schleper PT, DPT
Dr. Alex Schleper holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Franklin Pierce University receiving Magna Cum Laude distinction. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at MCPHS University. Alex Joined the team at Academy Physical Therapy in 2022.
While at MCPHS University he completed full-time clinical rotations at Academy Physical Therapy, Performance Physical Therapy, and CareOne. Alex has experience treating patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
Alex played NCAA Division II Ice hockey at Franklin Pierce University serving as team captain for three years. Following his collegiate career, he signed to play professional ice hockey in Denmark for the 2017/2018 season where his team won the Danish 1st Division championship.
Prior to pursuing a career in Physical Therapy Alex gained experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach while completing his undergraduate degree. He completed an internship at Fitchburg State University following which he was hired as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Franklin Pierce University. Alex also worked as a Sports Performance Coach at RAPT performance training. During these experiences Alex worked with collegiate and high school athletes as well as general population clients.
Alex seeks to provide patients with strategies to manage pain and increase physical activity promoting self-efficacy within the rehabilitation process to allow patients to achieve their functional, recreational, and athletic goals.
Alex is the lead author of the Effects of Dynamic Warm-Up on Anaerobic Performance: A randomized Counterbalance, and Cross-Over Study, which is published in the Research in Sports Science Journal.
